Step aboard and into incredible card art.
Rather than sailing atop the waves of the Azurite Sea, we are diving below the surface. Step inside this fun Mobile Headquarters and discover how it all came together with artist Geoffrey Boudout.
We are thrilled to have you join us for this Q&A, Geoffrey. This is a whole new location we’ve never seen before. How did you go about creating it?
Geoffrey: It's a funny concept so it was pretty exciting to work on. I imagined a cozy place, but open to adventures. First, I rewatched some episodes to get ideas. I wrote a few keywords to drive my ideas. This is a game between the scale of objects and their utilities, so I imagined myself in some adventures with the Rescue Rangers. I asked what could be funny then I moved to composition and layout.
Tell us about some of the clever details you left throughout this submarine.
Geoffrey: I really wanted to put dominoes in the location as it is a wink to their Headquarters in the show. It is really important for me to awaken the nostalgia and the love people have for the movie or show that I'm working on. I liked the idea of their logo popping up by light like a superhero call in the illustration too. I integrated sea-related elements like shells, a sardine can, and hooks, repurposing them all creatively.
