Meet this talented artist.
Meet Diogo Saito and get a crash (landing) course on what it takes to become a Disney Lorcana artist.
Welcome, Diogo. We want to know how you go about studying the movement/posing/anatomy of a character before you start sketching.
Diogo: First, to study the character in more depth, I rewatch the parts in which he appears to try to capture any nuances of the character that may have escaped me at first. Although this character appears very little in the film, it's cool to see his mannerisms and a bit of his attitude so that I can imagine the possible poses before I start sketching. Also, looking for concept art helps a lot too.
What’s one thing you’d like players and fans to know about the work you did on Disney Lorcana?
Diogo: I would like you to know that there is a lot of passion in the work I do for Disney Lorcana. I grew up having fun reading Donald Duck and Zé Carioca comics, along with other publications produced in Brazil. Films like The Lion King, Aladdin, and many others left their mark on me and stayed in my memory. I am a fan of films like Big Hero 6, Raya and The Last Dragon, Zootopia, and Frozen. Therefore, having the opportunity to work on cards with characters that were and are part of my childhood and also my adult life makes me very proud.
